Summer Scotch Foursomes
The summer tournament series at Almouj Golf continued this
weekend with the Summer Scotch Foursomes. Scotch Foursomes, or
Greensomes, is where players compete in pairs taking the best tee
shot on each hole before completing the hole in Foursomes
(alternate shots) format. Although selecting the best tee shot
makes scoring a little easier the alternate shot format for the
remainder of the hole can be quite challenging, players often spend
most of the round apologising about where their partners have to
play their next shot from!
Despite the difficulty of the format and the ever present Omani
summer conditions the scoring was very good with two pairings
matching or breaking the level par mark.
It was the lowest handicapped pair of Mike Bulliman and Adrian
Bain who combined to produce the best round of the day with 37
Stableford points beating husband and wife duo Edward and Louise
Daly into second place with 36 points.
