Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club Visits Almouj Golf
With the summer drawing to a close and
the temperatures receding just a little, on 31 August Almouj
Golf was pleased to play host to a group of visiting golfers from
fellow Dubai Golf-operated club Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht
Club.
Under the watchful supervision of Dubai Creek Professionals
Kenny Monaghan and Craig Waddell, the Dubai Creek members had a
practice round on the Almouj course on arrival to warm up for the
next day's social matches. The 7,310 yard links layout and design
of Almouj Golf impressed the Dubai Creek players and some very
flattering comparisons to other prestigious links courses around
the world were made.

battled it out against the Dubai Creek members in a social
Better-Ball Matchplay which saw Almouj Golf ending the day on top
with wins across all of the matches. In the spot prize division it
was Dave Gowans from Dubai Creek who took the nearest the pin on
hole 4, Jamie Wilson from Almouj Golf matching his achievement on
the tricky 14th. The longest drive of the day was struck
by Almouj Member Kevin Wright.
The social event was a resounding success and one that is sure
to be repeated over a return fixture later in the year. Friendships
and rivalries were formed within the Dubai Golf family and the
message passed on to the golfing community of Dubai that there is a
hidden gem to be found just over the mountains.
