PPGJuly 27th 2013 - A late edition to the summer golfing calendar, adding further variety to the fold in the form of a PowerPlay Challenge.  The usual format is to position two pin positions on each green, rewarding the golfer who takes on the challenge of the more difficult hole location.  Following a similar format we reversed the challenge by offering two teeing grounds for the golfer to choose from.  With a normal tee and a PowerPlay tee, which presented a slightly more tricky approach to the hole, the golfers were rewarded with a free stroke when choosing the latter option.  Playing a shortened 14 hole version of the Championship Course the player with the highest number of stableford points would claim the victory.

Another surprisingly pleasant afternoon for the end of July, as temperatures were eased by a stiff south easterly breeze.  With the tactical set-up utilising the sea view holes, the wind was to play a significant part in the round especially when playing from the PowerPlay tee.  In the second group of the day, Andy Basson's solid back 7 holes scoring 21 points, considering the majority of the holes were playing straight into the prevailing wind, saw him claim third place with a solid 36 points.  In second place, choosing to play all 14 holes from the PowerPlay tee, Keith Harvey scored 39 points which included 3 net eagles on some tough par 4's.  Fortune certainly favoured the brave with our winner Ahmed Kamel who took on the back tees for his entire round to produce an impressive 43 points.  A gross birdie on the Par 4 5th hole saw Ahmed score 5 points for this hole alone which contributed significantly to a front 7 holes of 24 points.

The scores were as follows:
