Almouj Golf Swiss Air Par 3 League Series 1 Final

16 April 2013Back

With the previous 6 weeks of qualifying complete, the final 10 players assembled for the Series 1 Final of the Almouj Golf Swiss Air Par 3 League.

The League players were all competing over the Academy Par 3 Course using 25% of their course handicaps. Over the course of the 6 weeks the League had taken on a very sociable feel with all players engaging in some friendly banter both before and after their rounds - that was all about to change for the final as the winner would walk away with a pair of Business Class flights to Dubai courtesy of event sponsors Swiss Air!

Having finished the qualifying series in pole position Nasaruddin Mohamad went into the final event as the pre round favourite although based on the performances of the previous 6 weeks all 10 competitors had the ability to take the title. Qualifying in the final 10th spot Johan Keyter almost produced a fairy-tale result by recording a net 26, playing off an adjusted Par 3 Course handicap of 7 Johan's round started on hole number 6 from where he recorded a string on gross Pars before an unfortunate 5 at the first hole, however Johan bounced straight back with a gross birdie at the 2nd hole. Johan's net score of 26 was shared by Robert Daniel who ultimately finished one place behind Keyter after a countback over the last 6 holes. It was left to series winner Nasaruddin Mohamad to take the honours after another fine performance which consisted of 9 straight par 3's for a net total of 24.

DSC_0037On conclusion of play all competitors were treated to a fantastic buffet served up by Almouj Golf's Head Chef Sadek before the prizes were distributed, in addition to the Business Class flights there were also flight covers and golf balls for the top 4 players.
