The Chedi Muscat Monthly Medal for December
The net division of the Monthly Medal was hotly
contested with many players beating the level par mark of net 72.
Beating the Championship Course's stiff test with net 71's were
Kevin D'Amours, Mike Reed, Ahmed Kamel Mahmud and Alan McInnes. On
many occasions these would have been good enough to place a foot on
the winner's podium however in this instance the players had to
settle for a tied 4th spot. In third place with a fine
net 69 was club stalwart Danny Renihan, narrowly beaten by Greg
Andreasen with a net 68. The net winner for The Chedi Muscat
Monthly Medal was Tony Howland who has produced a string of strong
results of late, no less so than his winning score of net 66 in
The gross division was wide open with
several of Almouj Golf's lower handicappers struggling on the
course, ultimately it was Alan McInnes who rose to the top with a
fine gross 80. Alan's round started in steady if not spectacular
fashion with an opening 9 of gross 42, this form continued into the
back 9 before Alan found another gear rallying to complete
challenging closing 4 holes in gross level par for an inward 9 of
In the Ladies net division it was Sarah Morris who climbed to
the top of the leaderboard with a net 78, playing off a handicap of
13 Sarah edged Ladies Captain Kim Davis who scored a net 81.
As a mark of the quality of golf there were 6 twos recorded on
the day, one each for; Kevin D'Amours, Alan McInnes, Iain Watters,
Bret Archer, Robert Daniel and Thomas Burns.

The next fixture in Almouj Golf's calendar is the Europcar Open
on the 14 December, with a full field already it is sure to be
another hotly contested Tournament.
