Without doubt, the reputation of the course as a world-class venue continues to grow. Given that the region is blessed with some amazing courses, the recent accolade of being voted the region’s second-best course is a testament to the hard work the Al Mouj team put into the club. This is further enhanced by hosting events such as the European Tour. I have had friends from all over the world send me messages to say how envious they are, having seen the course on television.
In addition, over the past couple of months, we have also hosted a number of teams from Dubai and all of them speak highly of the course (including how hard it is) and the warm hospitality they receive while visiting. This can only help cement the club’s reputation as a must-visit venue.
Exceptional golf courses, however, do not just happen by chance, and I would ask all members to work with the management on maintaining Al Mouj. I have heard it said that it is the little things that make the difference, and as a result, I would ask everyone to replace divots, rake the bunkers and not to leave your trash (including cigarette butts) on the course.
Looking forward to the next six months, the calendar is already beginning to look crowded. The inter-club summer series will start this month and the MING will come to a close in Autumn. With luck (and by staying out of the rough), I think we have a good chance of winning both these competitions.
There will also be a number of other competitions for members and I would encourage everyone to keep an eye on the portal for more details.
